Elliott started playing the guitar age thirteen, although he had some previous experience with classical instruments. Whilst taking to guitar like a duck to water with a fender acoustic, he soon graduated to a Fender Strat(still his favourite guitar).

Desde mis inicios por el rock, hard rock influenciado por grupos como AC/DC, motley crue, Guns and roses…. Y desde entonces componiendo desde los 14 años todo tipo de musica finalmente empezo a gustarme el rock instrumental tales como (satriani, eric jhonson, angus, petrucci, brian kahanek etc) fueron los que me motivaron a empezar. Mi estilo en las cuerdas…. bueno.. no busco lo dificil si no lo simple acaba gustando mas…, ritmos, estrofas y estribillos pegadizos, considero principal que el solo es muy inportante en el desarrollo final de mis canciones.

so this is the bit where you have to write about yourself and make it sound like somebody else has written it for you. i feel a bit uncomfortable doing that so ill just say whats needed.

ive been playing guitar for a long time, i used to play a lot of widdly widdly stuff and quickly got bored of playing or even listening to it. i now write songs purley for the feeling they ommit to me and never think in terms of chops, modes or technique at all.

I’m a visual artist who loves to play guitar. Self-taught for the most part, I decided to take theory classes in college. After that, everything just got better. I am now trying to go back to school to get a Bachelor’s Degree in Music.

About the track:
I usually don’t jam with somebody else’s backing track, because I tend to noodle around a little too much and I don’t play as much melody as I want to. But I found out about this contest a little too late, so I kinda had no chance but to use the provided backing tracks for it.

I’m currently playing guitar with SonicOvermind, a big riffin original rock band based in Newbury, Berks. I fell in love with the ol’ geetar watching AC/DC – Let There Be Rock video as a kid. I am John Huldt. I started playing the guitar at the age of 14 when the post-Cobain grunge wave hit Sweden (where I grew up). Then I got hooked on metal and later pretty much everything else. I am working on my first solo CD which is one gigantic guitar overkill and playing on it, I have greek virtuoso drummer Kal Drakopoulos and Philip Bynoe on bass. Phil did 6 years in Steve Vais band and he also played on the Ultra Zone CD. I hope this will all be finished at the end of june.
Oh, and the intro of Run Like a Freak is a joke mkay :-)

My name is Alexander, I’m 18 years old and I live in Sweden. I started playing guitar when I was 12 and I’ve been hooked ever since. Even though I think it’s fun to impress people by playing with speed, the aspect of the guitar I like the most is to affect people by playing with feeling.
Unlike most other guitarists at GTRidol I don’t use a backing track, everything you hear is instead created with a Boss RC-2 Loop Station, which gradually builds up the song.

Renato Fischmann Osorio was born in March 20th in 1980, at the city of Porto Alegre/Brazil. He began playing acoustic guitar around 9 years old, with Salvador Touguinha as teacher, and switched to electric guitar two years later.

I’m an aspiring youth guitarist, and I’ve only been playing for one year. I like to say I’ve gotten a good general knowledge of guitar, and quite a bit of technicality very quickly.

I compose mostly ambient and progressive music, with some metal here and there. I like to keep myself unrestricted to any certain genre, because I love to explore and experiment.

This track is inspired by Egyptian culture and achievements, and is an original composition with a solo I painstakingly wrote. It has been one of my less progressive tracks, but the elements of progressive music are still there.
