Judges Comments

One of the very first entrants, Celta was a front runner with his excellent blend of prog and metal. A great guitarist and compositionally very strong, we all hope that he will be back in August!

INTRODUCTION:

Im a 23 years old guitarist, i have a rock/prog metal band in Mexico City. (Distrito Federal).
Im currently working on my band PARADIGMA, doing gigs, tours, and almost, finishing the debut album “Nueva Luz”.

ABOUT ME:

Well, i started playing guitar at the age of 15 or 14 i dont remember jaja).
My cousin plays too, so he was a initial influence for me.

When i discovered BUMBLEFOOT, that was like a WHOAAAA to my mind, actually, i like the funny humor sense shredders like mattias ia, ron thal or paul gilbert, they are a huge influence to me, and they have fun playing it without saying :
“Hey, i can shred very very fast, and my music is sooo complex, im the best man!”

Years later, i met a teacher called “Manuel Vazquez” from the prog band “Agora”, he really helped me to find my way in this “musician life”, he also helped me in a lot of things, not just playing guitar tecnique.

In year 2004, i won a guitar contest in my old school called “G.Martell College Of Music and Audio School” playing a original composition.
By winning this contest they gave me a black Ibanez RG.
Also in year 2006, i won the same anual “Guitar contest” in my same old school, playing the composition that is here “C.E.L.T.A” wich means: Creative Execution of Long Triplets Anywhere. (A little weird uh?)
By winning this contest, they gave me another guitar, this time was a red Washburn X series.

MY GEAR:

My currently gear is a Marshall JCM 900 (currently, under repairs)
A pod xt with floorboard.
An Ibanez Universe, a custom sweese cheese guitar like bumblefoot, an Ibanes RG fretless guitar and a Pink Ibanez 7 string RG series.

NOW:

Currently, im studying guitar by myself, )looking for another teacher anyway) viewing videos on youtube, reading material,new posts, individual playing, and with my Harmony professor “Pancho Saenz” wich is a monster in theory lessons.

FUTURE PLANS:

Travel around my country (and world!!!) with my bands, have my debut album and the second one.

So thats all about me (in short words LOL).
